10/1/23: THIS DOG HAS BEEN THANKFULLY ADOPTED! This young, female, well mannered Redbone Coonhound (we are told) appeared on our porch 9/15 out of nowhere. She is thin and limps, and has a wound on one back leg (looks clean), but otherwise looks like she had been well cared for. We can only keep her a for a few weeks, and every animal shelter/rescue group within 30 miles of our house is full. She is not chipped, as per a local vet. All shelters say they can do nothing. We've put info out about her through neighbors, businesses, hunting groups, and several facebook groups, hoping her owner might contact us. No response has been received. We are told that if we have our local public animal control department pick her up, that chances are she will need to be euthanized after 3 days.
