BUCK He's an adoptable, 8-9 month old Great Pyrenees mixed breed pup. Buck was surrendered to the local animal control facility after he wandered off his property and was hit by a car. His left rear leg was broken. The owner was unable to afford his treatment, so Lucky Farms Animal Rescue and Georgia Dog Advocates teamed up to raise the necessary funds to help Buck. ($3500). He had been living his life outside in a barn with his mom and a littermate. He deserves better. BUCK is a very sweet boy. He is a loyal dog, following you around and laying his head on your lap. Like all puppies, he will require continued training and direction. He is likely going to be well over 100 pounds. He'll also require regular grooming (feet, ears, nails, fur) and daily brushing. Great with other dogs. Another resident medium to large dog as a play buddy is preferred. Cats are unknown. Previous large dog experience is preferred. A PHYSICAL FENCE IS REQUIRED, at least 5 feet. BUCK is house trained and currently located in a foster home in north Georgia. BUCK craves human and dog attention. He will nudge your arm for head pats and ear rubs. He will insist by burying his head in a crotch or armpit, not to sniff but to cuddle. He wants so much to play with his foster sibs. As a teenage pup, Buck would love the company of another dog close to his size. He loves trotting around the yard and playing bitey face with Chrissie. He still has a couple more weeks of recovery to ensure his broken leg has callused, but is expected to make a full recovery. Until then, he is subdued during playtime. He can't wait to do zoomies in the yard! He will require physical activities outside as well as mental stimulation inside. His ideal family will continue to work on basic manners, obedience, and trust. Once he knows you, he turns into a big baby, is very food motivated and will learn new things just to get treats. Buck is a 'sensitive' boy and cowers at loud voices and retreats from obnoxious noises, (vacuum, lawnmower). He understands 'no' as a bad word. We use 'eh eh' which doesn't seem to illicit the same negative response, but makes it clear that his behavior is not acceptable. BUCK will need to continue with leash training. He's house trained and understands 'go potty'. BUCK is neutered and UTD on vet care, vaccines and heartworm and flea preventatives. He is currently in a foster home in north Georgia. His adoption fee is $300.
