About Daisy Mae

After she gets to know she can trust someone, she's the most loving and cuddly snuggle bug you could want. Her favorite thing in the world is to be cradled like a baby. She'll literally melt in your lap. She's a Cockapoo who is guessed to be about 9 or 10 years old. She weighs 25 pounds, is housebroken and potty pad trained. She's fully vetted - spayed, HW Neg, vaccinated, just recently had a dental cleaning and a fatty lymphoma removed, and her lab work came back perfect. Daisy Mae has had a hard life. In her earlier years, she was primarily an outdoor dog who had to defend herself a lot. She's had two owners pass away leaving her an orphan at two different times so she's got a little bit of separation anxiety. She's fine with cats but her compatibility with other dogs is sketchy. She's initially a jerk with all of them and will try to bite if they come near her but she has learned to coexist with several and even initiated play a couple of times with an 80# pittie. She initiates play but gets confused when it's time to follow through because she's still learning how to trust. We'd say that while she could be okay with a larger, non-reactive dog, given proper introductions, supervision, and training, she'd really be better as someone's one and only. She's not much for leash walking. She likes to do her business and come back inside where it's safe. While she's a good passenger on car rides, she's not a fan of going to public places and meeting new people. She's very quiet but will alert us to strangers. We're located in Hayesville, NC.
