Meet Milo (formerly Milton the Bean Field Dog! He is an adorable terrier mix, around 3 years old and 9 lbs, with the softest fur and the sweetest doe eyes. He is neutered, chipped, and fully vaccinated. Milo has quite the backstory. He's our little miracle pup! Having been one of many little dogs dumped in a Missouri bean field in the horrific heat without food or water for weeks, he experienced more trauma than I can comprehend, and it's only because an angel on earth spent weeks trapping these poor dogs that Milo is sitting here beside me now. He is a true survivor. I am currently fostering Milo, and he has touched my heart more than any dog in my life. He started off terrified of the world around him, and we have had the honor of watching his walls come down piece by piece. He still has a long way to go but given the progress he's made in a couple of short weeks there is no doubt in my mind that he'll become the most loving and loyal companion you will ever meet. Milo would be most comfortable in a home with adult(s) with lots of love, patience, and willingness to help him on his journey to learn and trust. He's a bit of an escape artist so he must be leashed outside or have a home with a secured outdoor area. He gets along great with our other dogs as well! Despite everything he's been through, he's never shown aggression to us. He let us bathe him on his second day with us, and afterwards he loved being swaddled in a warm, dry towel on our lap! He doesn't like being chased or grabbed from behind while he's exploring (his flight/flight reflexes helped him survive in the bean field, and that will take a while to overwrite) but once he's found a comfy spot to lay, he enjoys a good scratch behind the ears and will even let you pick him up for a cuddle! He is the softest, sweetest little boy. Milo still needs to understand that he is finally safe, but he is opening up more and more every day. He needs on-going potty training (he is good with pee pads and going potty outside, at times), and he needs more encouragement walking on a leash. Most of all, he needs a safe place he calls home. Milo is a once in a lifetime companion. He will leave an indelible mark on your heart and, forthe right person, will become the love of your life!Milo is being fostered in Lindenhurst, IL with Jill Clark [email protected] 847-772-2098 and his adoption fee is $450. .If you believe Milo is the perfect match for you, please go to complete application at www.tinypawssmalldogrescue.org
