Trixie is a mini-Australian Shepard and she weighs about 30 lbs. She was purchased to be a farm dog on a goat farm, but (1) she prefers people to working and (2) my parents no longer have many animals. My parents love Trixie, but she has found people at a nearby bar are more affectionate than them. Now she doesn't want to stay home, and despite trying a number of things like extra fencing, she roams when she gets the chance. Now she is on a long tether near the house and has a dog house on the porch. The situation is for her protection because they live on a busy highway. My parents had hoped to surrender her to the county animal shelter so that she would be adopted, but they are not taking owner surrenders right now. She is only allowed to come inside the utility room when it is storming, but she doesn't have accidents inside when she does come inside. She is very friendly and she would love more affection and attention from her owners.
