About Prescott

Prescott is a 2-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound mix (guessing) who has a stunning red and black coat and a very playful personality. He is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, but he is being treated for heartworm larvae. He is looking for his forever home where he can be loved and spoiled. Prescott was adopted from Memphis Animal Shelter but now needs a new home because his current family can no longer care for him. He is house and crate trained. He knows basic obedience cues and 'high-five'. He has a cute underbite which causes one of his teeth to stick out, giving him a charming smile. He likes all kinds of toys, especially tug-of-war ropes. He likes other dogs, especially smaller dogs, but he can take a moment to warm up. He can guard food and toys from other dogs until he gets to know the. Training would be helpful to curb this habit. He sometimes needs slow introductions to men he is not familiar with, but he is friendly and curious once he trusts them. He is good with children, but he is not good with cats. He is good with bearded dragons, though. His former foster had a bearded dragon which Prescott would leave alone as he roamed the home. We are, however, uncertain of how he interacts with fire-breathing dragons. Prescott is very playful but enjoys settling down when playtime is over. He likes to snuggle with his humans and give kisses and cuddles. He has good energy and needs exercise to keep him happy and fit. He has been doing well living in an apartment, but he has immensely enjoyed trips to grandma's where he can play in the open backyard. He would love to have a family who can take him for walks or play with him in the yard. He is a loyal and friendly dog who will make you smile every day.
