About Lia

Hi, my name is Lia. I just hit the adoption page a week or 2 ago, and I'm already updating my resume! Please see #7 and #8!! 1. I am approximately 6 years old, I weigh about 19 pounds, and I'm a fully vetted (spayed and shots) female Shih Tzu. I am retired from the life of being a commercial breeding momma. My foster mom says I am a chunk, I think that means I am a big-boned gal. 2. I learned how to go up and down the 3 steps into the backyard. My foster mom said I was a quick learner on that! 3. I joined a club at my foster house - my foster mom said I am a member of the Clean Plate Club, whatever that means. 4. I think I am doing great with leash walking. However, my foster mom says I have to learn how to walk away from the house, because right now she carries me down the sidewalk and then we walk back. I kindof enjoy this, I don't know why she wants me to walk both ways. I just hunker down when I don't feel like walking. She calls me an anchor when I do that. 5. I have very few accidents in the house, because we go outside a lot! I like running around the yard and hanging with my foster dog siblings. 6. I had hardly any hair on my back when I was rescued - with a good diet and some exercise and just being in a non stressful home, my hair is all grown back! My foster mom says I have butterscotch and cream hair color. Mmm, that sounds good to me! 7. New! I can now take treats from my foster mom's hand - that used to be really scary but I am getting used to being around nice people! It's hard to forget that my first 6 years were spent in a crate but I'm slowly trusting the humans that I meet. 8. New! I got 'groomed' this week! I Look at my new photo - I look like a million bucks now! I would do best in a home with a fenced in yard, as I like to run around but right now I don't like having a leash on.
