Meet Valor !! This sweet boy lost his family due to divorce. Sadly his adopter decided she would leave him at the shelter, fully knowing he might be euthanized right away instead of simply reaching out to us so we could take him back. How people can do this to their dogs is beyond frustrating!! This sweet boy was born here in our rescue on Veterans Day which is how he got his name. He's such a sweet boy and is really feeling the loss of his family. Hopefully someone will chose to open their home to him so he can have a family that will repay his love and loyalty with a forever home. Valor is a male, 3 year old, Lab and pitbull mix. His mom was the sweetest tan pitbull and dad was a black lab. He weighs 87 pounds and is severely overweight. He should weigh closer to 60 pounds. He will need a family committed to his diet and weight loss as being overweight can have serious consequences if allowed to continue. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is Heartworm negative and on prevention. This guy is so sweet. If you want a dog that will follow you all around then it's him. He's been a very gentle boy and is currently shy. That fades away quickly once he sees you're friendly. He likes to run and play and can have his wide open hyper moments but once in the house he plops down and hangs out. Valor has done well with other dogs. He's never met cats so we are unsure how he would do. He loves kids and grew up with them in his first home. He's kind of a scaredy-cat. An oversized baby boy with a big heart. He is potty trained. He's been great on car rides and has been kind enough to jump in when asked so we don't have to lift his big ol self in there. He is very strong on the leash and pulls when excited but does settle after a few minutes. He's also doing well with crate training. He can be whiney when you're not with him but a quick verbal correction and he stops. He will also do this for a bit when you leave the house so he won't be a good dog for an apartment. Valor has a medium energy level currently. He's still coming out of his shell so his energy level may increase some as time goes on. He is currently a good mix of playful and relaxed. He has his spunky moments but it's not constant. He has not had any issues sharing food, treats or toys with people or other dogs. This sweet boy is so deserving of a committed family. He's such a big baby with a huge heart full of love to repay you with. %BDz%BD%BD%BD%8FVet and home checks required. %BDz%BD%BD%BD%8FNo apartments Located in Hampton VA. %BDz%BD%BD%BD%8F(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) %BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8F%BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8FDO NOT APPLY IF YOU RENT AND HAVENT ALREADY ASKED YOUR LANDLORD IF YOU CAN OWN A PITBULL TYPE BREED unfortunately they are not allowed in most rental situations. %BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8F%BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8F %BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8FPlease message [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application. %BD'%BD%BC%BD%BD%8F
