Move over hounds, wieners, and whatever else Rihanna may be, there's a new kid on the block. This pretty girl with the sleekest of ebony coats needs a fur sibling to adopt her and a human to sign the adoption papers! Darling Rihanna is a unique-looking 7-month puppy (as of Sept 2023). She currently weighs about 35 pounds but still has some growing to do. She is being fostered in Weymouth, MA and is already potty-trained. Her #1 Quality - She LOVES dogs! Her #1 Challenge - She is TERRIFIED of strangers! The good news about dogs with stranger danger, especially a youngster, is that a balanced fur-kid or two can help her gain confidence. They can show her that most humans are not to be feared, but rather be used to her advantage for things like getting treats and belly rubs! Rhianna will initially freeze in fear when around new people and new environments. She must have space and patience to feel comfortable. She also needs an experienced adopter who will have her back and ensure all strangers allow her to be the first to engage contact. This includes transitioning to an adoptive home. She will benefit greatly from a slow and gentle change to a new home and new family members. Rihanna must have a playful dog sibling. Kids over 10-12 need to respect her needs however a quieter home is preferred especially for the transition period. A fenced yard is ideal but not a must. No cats, she has not been cat tested.
