About Trooper

This handsome red boy is a Trooper. He is a 2 year old purebred Australian Cattledog who weighs about 45 pounds. Trooper is well trained. He knows:��%BD%A0Sit, stay, down, eat, go, free (ok to go outside, get out of car), up (to get in car or onto anything), and outside(runs to back door). He also knows circle and shake hands. Click on the red YouTube button to watch him sit and wait for dinner. He is very treat focused and learns quickly. He is house and crate trained. Trooper is a friendly guy who just needs a moment to get to know new people. He is learning that it's not nice to jump up to greet, so he isn't a fit for small kids. Trooper is quirky, as is standard with the breed. He sometimes nips when hands are moving fast around him. He can also sometimes resource guard his crate. This is easy to manage: ask him to step out of his crate before reaching in and ask him to drop anything in his mouth rather than just grabbing it. He has nipped a few times in these instances but not enough to cause any damage. Trooper is a people focused guy and he prefers that dog pals be chill rather than bouncy. He is fine walking down the street past other dogs, but is not a dog park kind of dog. He has lived with cats and respects when a cat hisses to tell him to stay away. Trooper is a fun guy. He loves to run after birds in the yard. He is a great passenger in the car, and jumps in and out on command. Trooper is an awesome dog for people who like the quirks and qualities of this breed. He is a typical Velcro heeler who is loyal and smart. He even likes to try to catch flies! A savvy owner will really enjoy this guy. Trooper is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He is located in Laguna Hills, CA, and is ready to meet qualified adopters who can meet and adopt here. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
