About Ashi

Nebelung / British Shorthair
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Ashi the ferel cat is available for a forever home. He came to me from somewhere in the neighborhood I currently live. Ashi was so hungry and neglected that he was willing to come to our door and let us know. Me being an animal lover and having experience with cats I decided to help. Unfortunately it is not my home and I van not bring in Ashi because he is technically feral and he sheds a lot. He requires someone who is able to groom him regularly and pet him regularly because he constantly asks for them. Most importantly he does try to scratch you and this is because he is feral. I have seen him change in the 2 years that he's been coming here. In the beginning I was not allowed to pet him, a year went by and he began to trust me. Now Ashi loves to be pet and does not want you to leave him, it is very sad. Unfortunately because he does not want me to leave him he tries to stop me and goes for my leg. He is also still unpredictable and you have to becareful how you pet him and move your hands because there are times he will try and scratch you because his feral side kicks in. Ashi is begging for a home. He is begging for pets and someone who knows how to pet and groom him. There was a time I had to use an electric shaver on his back because of matting and he was ok with it, so I believe grooming will be easy. He is very strong since he was recently neutered. His ear was also clipped. His hair feels like a soft teddy bear, very unusual like cotton. I have my own cat that I've had with me for 14 years who has different hair and does not shed,if ashi had his hair and was trained I would have kept him for myself, I honestly do want him, he is beautiful but it's impossible for me, I do what I can. Something else he does is chase away the fox and any other animals, he is very dominant and smart. He used to mark his territory before he was neutered and it was easy to smell but now he no longer does it. It's been around 9 months since he's been neutered by a rescue organization. I do not want him to spend another winter without love in the cold in my makeshift shelter. I have been feeding him blue Buffalo for the past 2 years, nothing cheap. He is a unique cat. Please save him from loneliness.
