About Willie

MEET Willie! Willie embodies all that a true min pin has to offer. He is smart, fun, cuddly, sweet, active, curious, and stubborn. Willie is eager to please, has learned a lot and is a quick study who thrives on praise and, of course, treats! Willie came to his foster home knowing pretty much nothing, a blank slate. We suspect he was previously an outdoor only dog. His coat was rough and dirty, his ears rimmed with fly bites, his tail naked and he was recovering from puncture wounds. He was hesitant to trust, possessive of food and toys. With loving patience, he learned that we would not hurt him, that he would be treated kindly and welcomed into our home. He potty trained quickly, can use the doggy door, doggie steps, plays well with us and the other small dogs. He is learning that being picked up is a good thing and he absolutely loves to cuddle and get lots of pets. He has learned that the couch is ok but can't quite get that the coffee table isn't. Willie is learning to walk nicely on a leash and can be reactive to other dogs, especially large dogs. He has no issues meeting new people and greets them with lots of wags. He learned the commands 'sit 'and 'come', and is starting learn 'wait', 'drop it',' leave it' and 'bring it'. He sleeps quietly in his crate overnight, loves squeaky and chew toys. He will entertain himself, emptying the toy box and flinging toys around. We are looking for a home that understands that Willie has much to learn and someone that will love him unconditionally. His perfect home would have a yard to sun and play in and other small dogs to play with and keep him company. No apartments or children under 12 for this very active and playful boy.
