About Scooby

Adoption Fee: $120
Doberman Pinscher mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet adoptable Scooby! We first met Scooby at the shelter in January of this year. He was found running the streets surrounding the shelter, and was brought to us in hopes his owners could be found. After almost a month, his previous owners did not show until they saw him posted for adoption, then he was reclaimed. Flash forward to August, a concerned citizen called in a wellness check on Scooby and the other dogs in the home as they did not have access to food or water. Scooby and his friend, Fluffy, were then legally seized from their previous owners due to neglect. Now, we are hopeful that he can find a real home that will love him truly and give him the life he deserves. Scooby is a young guy who still has plenty of energy. he can be quiet goofy at times, and even likes to pretend to be a cat and rub himself all over you if you do not pet him immediately. Unbeknownst to him, he is a HUGE dog and is a little too big to be acting like a cat. He is incredibly sweet and deserves so much love after all that he's been through. Our dream for him would be a nice big fenced in yard that he could explore when the day is nice. In his previous home, he was a lawn ornament who spent 24 hours a day on a chain. He has never received training or lived inside ever, but deserves a family that would give him that chance. From what we've seen, he responds very well to positive reinforcement and will work to the best of his ability to make his person happy. As far as kids go, with his current temperament we think that he would do good with older children or teens. His size and energy just may not be the best for younger kids without some obedience training first. He does like other dogs and enjoys playing with them! Scooby is a year old and weighs 65 pounds at this time. He has been vaccinated, treated for internal/external parasites and has tested negative for heartworm disease at the shelter.
