About Wallace

Wallace is a sweet boy who is eager to thank you for any affection he receives because he just LOVES people. His stature may be intimidating at first but he is a gentle sweetheart who just wants someone to love and if you give him a chance, he will not only melt your heart but his wiggles and facial expressions will keep you laughing. He is a perfect energy level for those looking for someone who can hang out and be mellow but then will still get spunky and eager to play whenever you want. �'ۢ House Trained: Goes to the bathroom quickly when you bring him out. Can be left alone in a room for extended periods and he is quiet and well-behaved�'�| especially if he has a comfy bed to lie on! �'ۢ Dog Friendly: We walk him with our 2 resident dogs and with our other foster and he does well- good body language while sniffing them and letting them sniff him. He can get overly excited when he sees other dogs and sometimes will bark to get their attention but we are working on redirecting his focus when he starts to get excited and are finding success using treats �'ۢ Kid Friendly: Went on staycation with a family that has a 10 year old and they said he was great. They also said there were several other children between the ages of 6-10 that came over and even though they were loud and excited he still did well �'ۢ Affectionate: Loves belly rubs and literally any attention he gets, he is very content to just sit next to you and receive affection �'ۢ Knows some commands: Sit, stay (short periods) and comes when you call his name. He seems fairly easy to train as we were able to get him to lay down with treats on the first couple of tries �'ۢ Well-mannered: Does not jump, gentle taking treats, patiently waited at my feet while I worked at my desk until I could give him attention and then even if it was just a couple quick pets he would wag in happiness and then return right back to relaxing once I stopped �'ۢ Likes to play with toys but he doesn't destroy them! Plays fetch �'ۢ Generally easy to walk on leash: He mostly walks by your side with a loose leash and often checks in looking up at you. I think the only time he pulls is when he gets excited when he sees another dog. He is strong but I use a front clip harness and with that I can control and direct him if he starts pulling �'ۢ Very easy to get in the car and is calm and content. He will just sit and look out the window or sometimes will stick his head (and 1 paw) out the window but he doesn't move around much and is very well behaved �'ۢ Gave him a bath and he was very relaxed while I was rinsing him with the hose �'ۢ NOT cat friendly
