About Wilma

Meet Wilma, a four-year-old, 70 lb. black mouth cur mix with the sweetest smile and soulful brown eyes. She was previously adopted in the winter of 2022 by an elderly woman who recently fell ill and could no longer care for Wilma. We just couldn't allow this sweet mama dog to end up back in the shelter in South Carolina so we scooped her up and brought her to Connecticut where she is now in a foster home! Wilma first came into rescue in October 2022 after being found as a stray (we believe she was dumped). She had clearly had a tough life and produced many litters of puppies for a greedy human. Wilma has felt pretty broken since losing her mom, who she truly adored, so she's ready to find a new family that will cherish her for the amazing girl that she is. This couch potato princess is as laid back and sweet as they come. She is a very easygoing, independent pup who makes friends with everyone she meets, including other dogs, cats, and kids of all ages. Before she lost her former owner, she enjoyed spending her days relaxing, watching movies, and listening to music. These are still some of Wilma's favorite pastimes, in addition to taking leisurely walks and car rides around the neighborhood. She's such a snuggler and wants nothing more than to be with her people. Wilma's a very good girl and is house/crate trained too. She will make a wonderful addition to any home!
