PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. Would do best in a fully fenced yard. 2. Children should be 10 or older. 1 year old male Chihuahua, about 10 pounds. Humor was found with a badly broken shoulder after being hit by a car. The only option was to amputate. He has been a tri-pod since June and is still learning how to navigate on three legs. He may be handicapped but he is not disabled! Humor is the sweetest boy who loves to flop over for belly rubs every chance he gets. He is submissive and a tad timid about new things but warms up quickly. He is a low energy snuggle buddy. He does fine with respectful dogs his size and we believe he would be fine with a dog savvy cat. While he is great on a leash, walking long distances would not be his fav (although he could stand to lose a couple pounds!) He would prefer a fenced yard, so leash walking for potty is not a requirement. He would also do best with dog savvy older children as he is easily knocked over at this stage in his recovery. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
