About Hazel

Hazel was born on a ranch in Wyoming and lived the first 6 months of her life outside with her parents. She lived a wild, roaming life where she also would heard cattle with her family. She got into fights with her fellow family members because she wasn't be fed properly. When she would need to be corrected as a puppy, she was cattle prodded We adopted her when we discovered her abuse. She then grew up the last few years as a domesticated dog. We are seeking a new home for her so she can live with more freedom with an owner who can give her the attention she needs. She needs a highly intuitive owner who understands the Catahoula breed, someone who will give her space to adjust, can train her and give her the mental stimulation she needs, and show her that she is safe. She still has slight food aggression so ensuring she is fed twice a day is needed. Once she gets to know you, she is very sweet, highly intelligent, and loves to run. The dream location for her would be a place she can roam freely on many acres of land, but will need to be trained to stay on the property. She is walked on a leash so taking the time to train her to live off leash would be needed.
