Hi, my name is Hoss. I'm a sweet, lab-mix boy who was recently rescued from a dangerous living situation. I have some scars where I was shot, but I don't let that stop me from trying to get all of your undivided attention. I have been outside, roaming freely my whole life, so I'm having to learn a lot of new stuff. I do very well walking on leash, but sometimes when I get scared - like when the doors open at Tractor Supply - I just lay down and won't move. I get better each time we visit there, so I should be used to that in no time. I'm also learning that I can't jump up on people, but that I get lots of love and pets when all four feet are on the ground. And, I'm learning that I can't put people's hands in my mouth to get their attention. I know it sounds like I'm a bad boy, but I really am not. I just haven't had anyone to spend time with me teach me how to behave properly. I do better when I'm not vying with my brother for attention. All the ladies at the Wellness Clinic loved me and said I was the best boy while they checked me over. And when I got shot, I just laid there and let the lady clean up my wounds and put medicine on me. During my visits to Tractor Supply, I'm a perfect gentleman. I am 9 months old and weigh 67 lbs. I am neutered, heart worm negative, up-to-date on my vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. I get along with other dogs, love to meet new people, and I like the cat here at my foster home. I would do best in a home where I will have someone to continue to work with me on proper behavior and be my leader. It would be best for me to not be in a home with small children just yet, but my foster mom says she is confident that I will be fine with them once I learn some manners.
