About Chickalay

Hi! My name is Chickalay! That's right, just like your favorite chicken joint! I am a 2-3yr old American bulldog mix. I was saved from death row at a rural shelter just in the nick of time. My rescuers were completely shocked when they found out I was actually pregnant when they took me in! What was supposed to be one simple rescue, turned into four!! I had a very ruff start to life�'�| Before winding up in the scary shelter, I was used to make babies for my old owner to sell. My heart broke a little bit every time my babies were sold off and I was made to make more. In case that wasn't bad enough, I had a very painful eye condition where my eyelids turned in and my eyelashes constantly scratched my eyes. I was in constant pain everyday but my old owners didn't care or even take me to the vet, all they were concerned about was the money they made off of my puppies. Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore pain and heartbreak, they left me in that scary shelter to die. I guess they no longer had any use for me. Thank goodness for my rescuers who took me and my babies in! I was able to raise my babies in peace and after they were weaned I was finally spayed, which means I never have to go through that heartbreak again! My eyes were also fixed and I can't tell you how relieved I am to not spend my days in constant pain. My pups have since been adopted and found Furever Matches of their own. I couldn't be happier for my puppies but now I'm lonely and I'm so ready to find a match of my very own! I love all people and my favorites are the kiddos! I play well with other dogs but I do get jealous sometimes so my rescuers think it's probably best for me to be an only pet. I'm as goofy as I am snuggly and I would make a wonderful companion for those who like to explore and for those who like to Netflix and chill also! I have so much love to give and I cannot wait to have a Furever Match to call my own! Could it be you?
