About Auto

Adoption Fee: $200
Jack Russell
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

We are looking to rehome our beloved 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Auto. We have had Auto since he was a puppy and have shared many great years, experiences, memories, adventures, and laughs together. Auto is, and always will be, an energetic puppy at heart. Unfortunately, our circumstances have changed and we have a young child which isn't the best fit for Auto. We want to find a great home for him to continue to thrive and live life to the fullest. Personality: Lots of energy (like a puppy). Very smart. Play driven. Happy, funny, friendly to adults. Eager to please. Great watchdog - barks when someone comes to the door, but does not bark for no reason. Positive traits: Fully house trained, knows how to use a dog door. Loves hikes, walks, running, climbing, swimming, puzzles. Easy to train - extremely quick learner. Knows many commands (sit, stay, up, speak, sit pretty, dance, lay, roll, 'bang' - play dead). Great at fetch (even finding a toy by sniffing it out). Comes when called. Fun and entertaining personality. The negatives: No young kids. Has shown some negative behavior toward our toddler, including hostile/confrontational barking. Unfriendly towards new dogs. Auto gets along fine with dogs he is familiar with. However, he may initially quarrel with dogs that he has not met before. Escape artist. Auto needs a fully secured yard as he is smart and will find ways to get out. Territorial when on leash. Auto can be territorial when walked on a leash, and will bark at other dogs. Possessive over toys toward other dogs (not humans). Auto loves fetch and if another dog interferes, he will snap at the dog trying to get the toy. Technical Details: Rough coat purebred Jack Russell Terrier, Age 10 (Born Feb. 26, 2013). Neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations. No health issues or medication. Requires a yard. Nails are easy to trim at home. Coat is easy to groom at home.
