About Raya

Meet Raya !! This beautiful and laid back lady is ready for her perfect home. She's very smart and extremely well behaved. Sadly she was left at a very full shelter by her owner knowing she might not make it out. Thankfully we were able to save her before anything bad happened. She's been thriving in her foster home! Raya is an approx 2 year old, female, Husky mix. She weighs 48 pounds. She is a very beautiful dog but sadly due to lack of care in her previous home we have had to cut some of her hair in places to remove mats. (She is not shaved just spot clipped) She is already spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She is thankfully heartworm negative. Raya is very well trained. She is potty trained, likes car rides and is mostly leash trained. She pulls at times when she's excited but mostly does well. She is excellent with cats. She also does great with other dogs. She likes to play but isn't overly hyper. She will get overwhelmed at times and just go lay down. She has done well with all the kids she's met so far. Raya is very smart and easy going in the home. She knows sit, down, paw, come, and stay. She will also jump into the car when asked. It's all just a matter of if she feels like listening that day��%BD��%BD��%BD��%BD . She's a bit aloof at times. She is very affectionate. She's very chill for a husky. She enjoys long naps and hanging out with her people. She has a medium energy level. She plays but no where near the typical husky energy. She can NOT be crated. She will escape any crate or hurt herself trying. The good news is she doesn't need a crate. She is a perfect angel when left out in the house. She just doesn't like being confined. Please don't think you will get her and crate train her. We have tried many methods, none work and she will end up getting hurt. If you can't have a dog that without using a crate then she's not the one for you. She has not had any issues sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other animals. She will run away and can easily jump fences. If you have a fenced yard it needs to be 6ft on all sides. If you don't have a fence you will need to keep her leashed at all times and make sure to get her lots of exercise. Raya has the traditional husky shedding. She needs to be brushed and will shed out her undercoat at least once a year. If you cannot handle lots of hair around the house then she's not the right one for you. Vet and home checks required. Fenced yard required 6ft or higher. Located in Hampton VA.
