About Tonka

Tonka came in with his two sisters Tallulah and Tilly. They were surrendered by their owner due to an inability for them to continue caring for three young puppies as they grew up. Now they have been at the shelter for some time, and are hoping to find their forever homes very soon. Tonka is the most loyal puppy out of all of his siblings. He enjoys following workers and volunteers around the play yards while they clean and care for the other animals here. He is very patient and gentle, and does not act crazy to get attention. We've noticed that Tonka really loves to spend time outside, so he would do really good with a family that had a fenced in yard or could take him on outdoor adventures. He gets along well with other dogs, and is extremely submissive in interactions. We think he would do good in a home with children since he is so calm. He may even be a good fit for seniors if they are willing to begin training now to ensure he is easy to handle as an adult! Tonka would fit in in just about any family that is willing to love him completely. If you are looking for a calm puppy, please consider Tonka! Tonka is roughly 5 months old and around 30 pounds at this time. We believe he may weigh around 50 pounds as an adult. Tonka has been vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for external parasites.
