Remy is a loyal five-year old dog who loves to be close to everyone in the family, especially if we're sitting on the couch watching tv or even in our rooms at bedtime. He is very loyal and always wants to be close by to his people. He likes to play fetch and run in our fenced-in yard but he also loves to take naps during the day. He has completed a ten-day obedience training course at the GIFMAF facility in Wesley Chapel. He can sit, lay down, heel, come, stay, and ignore (off) on command. He sits and waits to be released to eat and also alerts when he has to go out to potty. Remy weighed 82 pounds at his last vet visit on June 14th. He has been boarded at Pet Paradise several times. He stays in the same kennel with Moose, his brother dog (an 11-year-old, 71-pound Labrador/Catahoula mix) and plays outside with the other dogs in the play yards and splash pool. We adopted Remy when he was four months old. He had been rescued by a family from a burn barrel and rehabilitated. However he was growing too quickly for them to keep him, as they lived in a trailer home with a special needs child. Remy was attacked twice by an older dog when he was a puppy and recovered from teeth puncture wounds. Unfortunately, Remy has now become the aggressor and attacked our new seven-pound puppy. Remy had been happily living with his 11-year-old brother dog and our two-year old cat. However, he has attacked the puppy twice (the first time the puppy escaped but the more recent incident required emergency vet care). Additionally, this attack happened hours after a follow-up in-home training session with one of the GIFMAF trainers, specifically focused on the interactions and relationship between Remy and the puppy. This is why we are looking to rehome him and recommending that he go to a home with no other dogs. Pasco County Wesley Chapel, Florida
