She needs reinforcement when talked with comments most probably because she never got any words of love. She is very obedient when spoken to. ... She is independent, yet responsive to eye contact, a joyful greeting, and a long pet and belly rub. ... Bark/noisy: No she does not bark at all. TEMPERAMENT: MARA is a loving female who is very calm and peace-loving. She is house trained. ... RESCUE STORY: She was rescued from an other rescuer and surrendered to Paws in Action. Found in the bushes, very long hair and a total mess. Probably with many litters in her lifetime, we had to remove few tumors from her nipples and always has to be checked upon. She has been at the Paws in Action shelter in Cancun for several months, living with the outdoor pack. Her nipples were enlarged and have been removed. Her belly seems tender when we pick her up so her new family will want to keep an eye on that. She is such a sweet dog. She has probably given birth many times and she scrapped for herself and her babies on the streets. She is ready for a quiet life, with loving people. And she deserves it! Despite what she's been through, she is always cheerful. We call her the 'mom' of the pack. She's amazing. ... We rescue dogs from the streets of Cancun, rehabilitate, socialize and make them ready to be great pets. They have much love to give. We spend a lot of time with our animals, making them ready for homes and ensure that they are as healthy as possible. The adoption fee covers PART of our expenses. Our animals are special--they have known nothing but love during our time with them. We are reducing our adoption fee to stimulate more interest and to make room for more dogs. ...
