About Nana

Read about our adoption process on our website. Nana steals the hearts of everyone she meets! She does great in the kennel, walks well on the leash, adores attention and is learning to interact well with other dogs. Through her stay with at the animal shelter she has been defensive of other dogs, but has never had any incidents. She would growl and bark at the other dogs as we walked by the other kennels but is easily redirected away. She has dramatically improved and the staff can put her in runs next to other dogs and she barely pays any mind to them (see videos on instagram @rebeldogrescue). It was clear that Nana was defensive in the stressful shelter environment and needed an opportunity to get out and flourish. We are so happy that we were able to get this girl out! Nana needs some work on the leash as she does pull a bit, but usually it's just because she so excited to get where she's going. Nana can be a little shy at first with new people, but once she gets to know you, she is an absolute sweetheart. She has the deepest love for her people and wants nothing more than to be in your lap at all times. This smart pup is very affectionate and loves to receive physical affection from her humans. Nana is also very food motivated, which makes her a great candidate for training. While Nana loves to run around and play, she is also a bit of a cuddly couch potato. She enjoys nothing more than curling up with her favourite humans and relaxing after a long day of play. Despite her love of relaxation, Nana also has plenty of energy to burn and would thrive in a household that can provide her with regular exercise and playtime. Nana needs someone who is patient and understanding, and who can give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and secure. Once she gets to know you, she is an incredibly sweet and loyal companion who will love you forever.
