Name:%A0 GEORDI Breed:%A0 Lab / Pitbull Mix (??) Age:%A0 4 months old (25#) Sex:%A0 %A0 %A0Male (not neutered) Location:%A0 Thurston County, WA Vet Info:%A0 No HW test. UTD on vaccines (per caretaker). 'He is completely blind, following head trauma between 5-6 weeks of age'|Geordi came into the veterinary hospital I work at with head trauma, a broken jaw, and malnourished. He was found to be blind. While he did overall recover, he is still 'special' and has some neurologic deficits (hyperreflexia, mild-moderate circling). He does is his best to be a 'normal' puppy with in his limitations and with time can and has learned different key words.' Owner reports: Geordi is being helped by a good Samaritian. 'I'm a veterinary technician, Geordi came to me as a stray with severe head trauma and a broken jaw. Local animal service couldn't take on medical care, I decided to take him on with the goal of rehoming him if he survived. The family that I had originally found unfortunately had circumstances change and couldn't take him. He's been with me since. We've worked with different doctors and besides being blind and having neurological deficits he has a clean bill of health.' Geordi is an indoor dog confined to one area of the house. He is not house broken or leash trained, due to young age (4 months). Geordi is said to be outgoing and good with adults, teenagers, and other dogs. 'He doesn't bite aggressively but he's puppy mouthy and neuro/sensory mouthy. I think ideally a home with out children would be best for him.' 'Due to his neurologic deficits and normal puppy he can be very mouthy, we've been working on it though and he is showing signs of progress'|Puppy normal mouthy with people, between normal puppy and blindness he does have a tendency to 'taste' everything'|he goes between my house and my sisters for doggy day care, he is definitely adaptable and can learn.'
