About Kevin

Kevin is a goofy male Staffy who is starved for exercise, play, and attention. He gets very excited upon meeting new people, and loves nuzzling and cuddling and will give as many kisses as you let him. He loves vegetables and toys and he will destroy almost any typical dog chew toy that's not a super heavy duty Kong toy or an elk antler, but he doesn't chew anything that's not explicitly a dog chew toy. He gets along wonderfully with the cat, and we catch them cuddling together on the couch when they think no one is looking. He's healthy, house trained, knows many basic commands, and loves to play catch. On the down side, he tends to bark at neighborhood noises when he's inside (we don't have a fenced in yard so this is most of the time here), and he is not good around other dogs at all. He was never socialized to behave around other dogs very well, and although there have been other dogs he has played with without incident, unfortunately he has gotten in a couple of fights with dogs that were loose in the neighborhood. He's very strong, and we do not recommend letting small children or the elderly try to control his lead if there's much chance of him seeing another dog he will want to chase. We can't know how he was treated before we adopted him, but he doesn't bear any signs of abuse or mistreatment. His teeth are healthy and he has no scars to indicate a history of fighting or abuse. He has a bed, a crate, and a metric ton of toys that we will no longer need if he is rescued, so they can definitely go with him.
