About Florence 'Fox'

URGENTLY SEEKING A HOME: Florence 'Fox' is a very special puppy to our family. We bought her along with her brother/littermate in February 2022--they were about 12 weeks old & they were not 'covid pets.' We had every intention of moving to a large piece of property so they could enjoy plenty of space & help on our farm, but we fell into financial crisis & are still trying to recover from it. Florence & her brother are both crate & potty trained. They are both social with the family and love lots of affection/belly scratches. Florence is the dominant one of the pair, & with this breed, her protective, dominant nature has been a challenge with Sparrow, who we discovered has anxious tendencies when his sister or our older golden doodle alerts us of perceived 'danger.' We have trained both puppies to go into their crates to calm down in these circumstances to prevent nipping or fighting among the dogs. Florence is very sweet & loving; she loves to lay on her side/back and have her belly rubbed or to have her chin scratched. She will snuggle on the couch or lay next to us when we're hanging out together. She is very active & protective of the family/home. She is extremely smart & fast. She loves to keep watch over the backyard & play fetch. She is dominant & in charge of her brother when they are together, but she submits to our golden doodle & our instructions; she wants to please us. She is a vocal girl & doesn't love to be in her crate for more than a couple hours during the day; she is quiet all night long). She does well on walks on a leash. This is a sad parting for all of us. She has been in a home with a large, loving, but active family of teens & adults since she was brought home & we don't recommend her be in a home with young children due to the cattle dog herding/nipping nature. She needs a strong & intuitive leader who is knowledgeable of how to train/handle cattle dogs. Please let us know right away if you are able to provide the right environment for her.
