Hi, my name is Dolly, but my foster mom calls me Pretty Girl a lot. And sometimes she calls me Miss Piggy. (What can I say? I like to eat!). She says I have the softest fur ever, even when I'm dirty and that it has the prettiest waves. I've been staying with her for a little while now and she says it's time for me to find my own family. It's fun here; she has other dogs for me to play with, but I think she's right. I would love to have my own family. I lived with a family before and had 3 fur siblings, but one of my human boys was very allergic to us dogs (he had to go to the hospital even) so I came to live with my foster mom. I would really love to have another dog or two to play with at my new home. I've always lived with several other dogs, and I'd be really lonely without a fur brother or sister. I get along fine with male and female dogs, but my foster mom laughs because I absolutely adore her boy dog. She says I follow him around like a love sick puppy. (And what's wrong with that?) I loved the boy dog I used to live with too, he was the bestest. And I visited another foster mom while mine was on vacation, and she had the nicest boy dog too. I just want to play with them so much!! Sometimes it's a little scary meeting new people, but when I see other dogs showing me that the people are ok, I want to take a sniff and get some pets and scratches of my own. I was a little scared of my foster mom when I first came here. I stayed away from her for a few days, but all of the other dogs kept running up to her and getting loved, so I decided I'd try too. She was gentle and patient with me and now I can't stop my wigglebutt nubbin from going crazy when I see her. That makes her smile so I wiggle harder. And then she always gives me lots of love. I'm starting to like this snuggling thing. I see why the other dogs like it so much. Foster mom says I do a pretty good job walking on a leash for being young and all. I like going out on my leash. I'd like for my new family to help me to get really good at walking on my leash. I'm really working hard at my potty training but I still have accidents sometimes. My first house had a doggy door that I learned to use. That made it a little easier. I'm learning some basic commands: I know how to SIT and WAIT for my food. I know to go into my CRATE, and I'm learning what OFF means. I love to play with toys and play in the doggy pool my foster mom has outside. Splashing water is SO much fun. I also like to climb on things, especially the table on her deck when she doesn't push in the chairs. (That's where I hear that OFF command a lot). I get down, but it's just too much fun so I have to do it again. Foster mom says I might be good at agility because I'm pretty athletic - something about channeling my energy into something constructive (whatever that means). I don't mind my crate. I will sleep in it all night (but I always have to go potty as soon as I wake up). I was born on February 27 of this year, so I'm a little over 5 months old. I weigh about 32 pounds now. Foster mom thinks I'm going to be a pretty big girl when I'm done growing. I've had all of my shots and I take medicine to keep nasty heartworms and fleas away. I also have a microchip to protect me. When I'm old enough, I will need to be spayed. I don't want to have puppies. There are too many of us looking for homes. There will be a $50 spay deposit required that will be refunded once proof of my spay is received by ASF. Because I can sometimes get a little scared when I meet new people, I would really like to meet you and my potential fur sibling(s) to make sure we are all going to get along ok. If you think we'd be a perfect fit, please fill out an adoption application at australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application. There is also a $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfers me to my new family. I'm being fostered in Jackson, OH. All adoption fees go to help other dogs like me.
