About Rudy

FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED Move over Rudolph, a new red-nosed character is in town! Meet Rudy! This boy wonder is only 7 to 8 months old. By the length of his legs and sonar-sensing ears approved by the U.S. Navy, he is likely a Great Dane mix. He also looks part red-nosed pittie, which is a bonus for those who like extra loving and loyal companions. In July, young Rudy was picked up as a stray after being dumped like garbage, but he is now in safe hands with the Lawrence, MA animal control officers. With help from rescue advocates, Rudy is destined for a special home where he'll never be treated so terribly. Though still a puppy, Rudy is already a big boy with a big personality! He is very smart and playful. He loves to chase water from a hose and knows how to play fetch. He also enjoys playing with anything on the end of a stick, so watch out if you roast marshmallows in his vicinity. Rudy is working on skills to include his gradual understanding of what 'no' and 'not right now' mean. However, like all puppies he should attend a basic training course to learn good manners. This is a fun and effective way to start bonding together. His adult teeth are still coming in, making him a bit mouthy. It's nothing serious, but another reason to work with him. He has the potential to become a good canine citizen which will really impress your friends! Rudy is a good boy with no signs of aggression, and he's been great with the other kenneled dogs. For an excitable youngster, he proved himself at a recent meet-and-greet where he showed signs of appropriately meeting a new dog. Due to size and activity level, Rudy should not live with small children. His cat experience is unknown so he should not live with them. Rudy is listed as neutered because he will be fixed either before being foster/adopted or the foster/adopter will receive a voucher or financial assistance. Never naughty, only nice, Rudy's made a list and checked it twice: A person experienced with large dogs A home that's not an apartment complex An active, playful family Puppy manners training Kids ages 8+ Compatible dog ok Fenced yard preferred Will you be Rudy's rescue hero?
