About Roux

Roux ('Roo') is an affectionate, goofy, protective 4.5 year old girl who would do best in a home with kids over 10 years old as she is very strong and playful, and sometimes doesn't know her own strength or size (94 pounds). She has a very high prey drive, so absolutely no small animals (dogs under 30 pounds, cats, rabbits, etc.) but will keep your yard clear of any unwanted critters! She does well with dogs her own size who can keep up with her playful energy, and needs someone who understands the Rottie breed and their headstrong attitudes. She is a very sweet girl, and we are only rehoming her due to our international move, as we have had her since she was 6 weeks old. She could use a bit of work on leash training and has some leash/fence reactivity, but is quick to learn and very treat motivated, as well as a people pleaser. She would do best with a fenced yard, and is eager to protect her domain. She does have some mild entropion (inverted eyelashes) but after discussing with her vet, had decided against any invasive treatment options and instead just use coconut oil around her eyes which alleviates her seasonal symptoms. Other than that she is in perfect health and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is crate & muzzle trained since we understand the breed can be intimidating and wanted her to be prepared. She loves to lay on the couch and cuddle in bed, but most of the time prefers to sleep on the floor nearby. She will come with all basic supplies: large metal crate, bed, dog bowl, leash, muzzle, her favorite toys, and food she has been on. This is one of the toughest decisions we've ever had to make, and will be adamant about finding the absolute perfect home for her.
