HIGHLIGHTS: Friendly and playful girl! Sweet Blondie came to us from a hoarding situation. She was pregnant when she arrived and had severe skin issues and almost no fur. Unfortunately her puppies came prematurely and did not survive, most likely due to malnutrition and poor care. We made sure that she had lots of TLC and started working on her right away to help her start feeling and looking better. Her skin has healed up and her hair is coming back nicely. It is very soft, and you will love petting her! We are not sure of her breed. There were several Shih Tzus in the group and she's a mix of something, but she's a 100% friendly Good Girl! She can be a little timid around strangers but she's sweet and adjusts quickly. Blondie loves being close to her person and is very loving and gentle. She has a little bit of separation anxiety, she will whine at the door for a few minutes when her foster mom leaves but then settles down. She sleeps with her foster mom on the big bed and cuddles all night. Blondie loves to play with toys and the other dogs in her foster home. She is very attached to another girl from the same hoarding situation and when they are together they love to play, sleep, eat, run and nap together (if anyone is looking to adopt two dogs, Blondie and Lavender would love to continue to be best friends!). She seems to get along with all the dogs she comes in contact with and having another dog friend to play with is best for her. We have not had Blondie around cats or kids but she would probably do well with children. She is working on her potty training and will use a pee pad if she can't get outside. Blondie rides well in the car, and walks on a leash but a fenced yard is a must. She is curious and likes to explore and isn't above leaving a yard, even if a person is standing right there with her. Blondie has been to a vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, has had a 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She never had any care and she was living outside so it's no surprise that she is heartworm positive. We have started her treatment which is covered by the rescue until she tests negative. Blondie is a very good girl who deserves a loving home and a family to love her forever! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
