About DENVER

HIGHLIGHTS: He's a total sweetheart who will be a great companion to a lucky person! Denver was surrendered to us by his owner. Look at that little face! He's a cutie! Denver is a sweet, snuggly playful boy. He can be shy at first but once he warms up he will nuzzle your hand to ask for pets and say thank you by doling out sweet kisses. He loves to sleep snuggled close in the big bed all night. Denver likes other dogs and has never been an only. He very affectionately attaches to other dogs he meets and enjoys their company and will be happiest in a home with a friendly small dog to play with. He has done well around his feline foster sibling. He has not been around kids but we think he would be fine with older kids who will respect his initial shyness. Denver can still be a little shy about being picked up but he lets you do it and enjoys the cuddles. He likes to play with toys but he's not a high energy dog. Denver is still working on potty training, but he is making great progress. Lots of positive reinforcement and a good routine will help him get where he needs to be. Denver does great riding in the car and walks well on a leash. He loves going on long walks, rolling in the grass, and lying in the sunshine! Sometimes unfamiliar things and loud noises startle him and we believe a fenced yard is going to be where he'll feel most comfortable. Denver has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. When he had his neuter he also had a dental and he had a bunch of rotten teeth removed. He started to feel better immediately. Denver is such a sweet boy and we can't believe he has not been snatched up yet! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
