About Duke

Duke is a 10-month-old merle Catahoula Bloodhound mix. He is around 70 lbs and up to date on all vaccines, microchipped and neutered. Duke has gone through a 4-week training program with Norton Dog Training and walks great on the leash, has trained and learned commands with the Martingale Collar and SportDOG Brand FieldTrainer 425X Remote Training collar. Within continued training, he will 'load', stay and heel. He has a goofy personality and thrives when he has a job and commands to work. At this time, we believe it's best if he is the only dog in the home with someone who is able to give a large amount of attention to him. We have had him with our two dogs (6-year Entlebucher Mountain Dog and 1-year Catahoula Redbone Coonhound mix) since he was a puppy and he's unpredictable when tired or around food/toys. To date, he has had no issues boarding or training with other dogs. We believe he will thrive in a home with land or the ability to explore with freedom. He's protective of his pack and has the drive to continue learning. We strongly believe a meet-and-greet should not include us due to his protectiveness associated with Adam & me. We love Duke so much and really wish we could be his forever home but unfortunately adding the third dog (Duke) has brought more stress to our family than good and it would be unfair for everyone if we continued forcing a dynamic that is not meant to be.
