About Thunder

LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Forever home with lots of activity, fenced yard, playful dog friend about his size HIGHLIGHTS: High energy, affectionate, and Mr. Personality Thunder is a super sweet guy who was found as a stray. We posted him but no owner came forward, and he's ready for a new home. Thunder is still very much a puppy with lots of energy. He likes being near his person and enjoys snuggles, kisses, and belly rubs, but Thunder loves to play first and foremost, with people and dogs alike or by himself. He is very active and confident and gets along with all the dogs in his foster home. He is also very interested in the resident cat and will sometimes let out a little bark, but he is more interested in her food. He would likely welcome attention from older children, but he is probably a bit rambunctious for smaller kids. Thunder loves to do zoomies, both inside and out, with another dog or alone. He will do well in a home that has lots activity and a dog or two he can interact and play with. A fenced yard is a must for running and playing. Toys are awesome, the noisier and hardier the better! Thunder does pretty well on a leash and regular walking would help him burn off energy and give him some additional stimulation. He is doing well with house training, knows how to use a doggy door, and is pretty much completely housebroken with regular outside time. He will bark sometimes during play or if there is someone at the door, but otherwise he is not overly vocal. Thunder is great on car rides. He likes to sit up in the seat and watch out the back window or poke his head through the two front seats to watch out the windshield. If he is bored he might chew, so he has lots of toys and chewies to distract him from chewing things he shouldn't. He doesn't always recognize personal space, and follows commands if he wants to. He's smart though and learns quickly. He's very food motivated. At night, he likes to sleep in the big bed pressed right up to you. Thunder has been to the vet for a wellness check, nis up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Thunder needs a home with lots of activity, so if you have a busy family or are looking for a doggy friend to go with you on adventures, he's your guy! To meet a dog and be considered for adoption the first step is to submit an adoption application for review using the link. *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit. We are not always able to respond to every application.
