About Soli

Adoption Fee: $75
Lab / Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Soli is a rad 4 year old ~65# adventure-and-chill chocolate lab husky mix who loves to run, play fetch, hike, backpack, swim, raft, mountain bike, xc ski, and is also really into taking long naps on the couch or dog bed. She does great home alone, or with a dog or kitty pal during the workday (though she is used to a dog door, she is fine without it, too). She's great with chickens and with kiddos. Her interactions with the neighbor's horses are good, and she doesn't chase cattle when we're out for walks in the county. She knows sit, down, off, come (and that a sharp whistle also means come), shake, drop it, leave it, no, and 'fetch it up' (go find that tennis ball, it's out there somewhere!). She knows stay, but sometimes breaks before you'd like her to. She doesn't spend a lot of time on leash, but is decent at it. 'Stay close' and heel mean similar things for off or on leash. Soli loves winter and will take naps in the snow before coming back in and taking another nap under the wood stove. How in the heck she can take such a range of temperatures blows our minds, but it means she's also remarkably tolerant of summer temps (especially if there'll be some water to get into later). Her butthead traits are that she can get an overinflated sense of her own territory sometimes, and that she has somewhat unpredictable alpha assertion aggression toward other dogs. Usually she'll run and play, but sometimes she's a jerk first, so introducing her to new dogs in a mindful way, especially at your own home and in your neighborhood, is a good idea. We have had her since she was a puppy (one of 14 puppies in the winter of 2019 at McPaws!). We also have another dog, and a new baby. Soli just isn't getting the adventures in that she deserves, and we would like for her to have a great life with someone who likes to get outside, too, and has the time to do her justice.
