Sam is a sweet boy but has had a rough start. My children's dad bought him from a pet store but did not have the time or patience for him - he started keeping Sam in his kennel for long periods of time in the garage and also got a too physical with him as well (hitting him and choked him by holding him in the air by his collar). My kids were voicing things to me and I eventually convinced him to surrender Sam to me. My children love Sam but we cannot keep him - I'm allowed only two dogs where I live and I currently have two. Plus Sam needs a place where he can run and feel like he has jobs. Sam needs training and is very protective of me - he's uneasy and barks excessively if someone new comes to my home. He plays very well with our young female golden retriever (besties) but seems to want to herd and closely watch my little old male dog. He cuddles with me and follows me around, I guess I'm his person. It breaks my heart, but I cannot keep him. I want him to have a good life and a second chance - he is only a year and 3 months old.
