About Artemis

Artemis was rescued as a young adult, about one year old, with his brothers, mom and dad from a homeless encampment by the river. He and his family were living in and around a woman's tent and slept in the tent with her. Artemis was born outside but was used to being around people. When I rescued him, he was skittish and afraid since he'd never been indoors. Artemis and his brothers gradually became more tame and friendly. His brothers, mom, and dad have all been adopted to loving homes but Artemis is still waiting. He's a loving, sweet boy that is always up for pets and head rubs. Artemis gets along well with other cats but will take a while to adjust to a new home and people. Thus, he would do best with someone that is patient and understanding. Once he's comfortable though, he'll be a loving companion for someone and a great addition to any home. Artemis just want to be loved. Unfortunately, he did develop crystals in his urine and have a blockage a little after one year old. But since he's been on a food specifically for urinary tract issues, and a couple of supplements for this problem, Artemis hasn't had any more problems; it's been almost a year now too. But he would need to stay on a wet and/or dry food for urinary tract health, and at least one of the supplements I've been giving him. I've had a cat before with the same problem that stopped having crystals after I followed a similar regime and he lived many years afterwards without any symptoms. The food and supplement are also over the counter and not prescription. Otherwise, Artemis is a maintenance free kitty. He's a sensitive boy who just wants to be loved and feel secure in a happy home.
