Meet cuddle bug Slate! Slate is a 2 years old, neutered, UTD on vaccines, de-wormed and microchipped husky who loves to cuddle, cuddle, cuddle - and cuddle, did we say that? %A4 Slate is crate trained, walks super well on leash, & he absolutely loves long walks. He rides great in the car, and is crazy about the water, so all of you lake fans, or anyone who has big pools in their backyards, etc, this is your man. Slate would be the perfect partner for camping and outdoor activities with the family (once he gets to know the men). Slates life changed within 22 hours in a home from a man who adopted him from CA and transported to UT. Slate became fearful of men during that time with new owner. The transporter instantly called animal control to the scene for help. This is how quickly the abuse started for him. And this is how fast it can change a dog. Animal control has everything documented from living situation, abuse seen, and not being feed. After this point another rescue stepped into help but wasn't able to without the resources to. So we were then asked to step in for help so he wouldn't be euthanized. Slate can walk through a large crowd without issues. But if a man reaches out to pet him without him being ready that's where we have a problem. And who can blame him after 22 hours of what he went through. For the men in his life, go about your day, ignore him, say hi if he walks by and tell him he's a great boy, maybe toss a ball for him or fill up a pool, letting him see you and then walk away. This allows Slate to see all the good things you have to offer and allows him time to get to know you from a distance. He is learning to share toys & absolutely loves to play! He's full of energy, but also loves to curl up with you on the couch & snuggle. SummitCanine dog trainers in Utah have met & evaluated Slate & they have offered their expert training, free of charge to anyone who adopts this wonderful boy to help him reach his incredible potential ٴ As you know these big bundles of floof are the crazy wild child who love to jump when they see you. Hehe. Slate is in a foster home in Northern Utah. If you're interested in Slate please fill out the pre-adoption application. Visit Linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue
