About Timon & Pumbaa bonded

Do you remember the lovable wart-hog Pumbaa and his meerkat buddy Timon in Disney's animated 'Lion King?' Well, we're named for Timon and Pumbaa because our 'hakuna matata' (no worries) lifestyle also got us into trouble. That is -- we were found by a Good Samaritan as we wandered the mean streets of Houston together. Both of us are super-sweet, loyal, confident, courageous, and gentle fellas who weigh 60 pounds and were born about October 2021. We're very playful, so both of us are perfect with all hoomans - including kids - as well as other dogs. Timon says, 'I look to be a purebred German Shepherd Dog.' Pumbaa says, 'My dappled/ merle markings on my head and legs and v-shaped ears show my Catahoula heritage; my bushy tail and medium-coat texture indicate that German Shepherd blood could be coursing through my veins.' We German Shepherd dogs are renowned for our high intelligence, uncanny faithfulness, and noble character. Like a typical German Shepherd Dog, we'll want to bond with our new family by being right in the center of all their activities. We can be gentle family pets who easily learn commands. We can also be steadfast guardians who are willing to put our life on the line in defense of loved ones. No wonder we're truly a dog-lover's delight and rank at the front of canine royalty. Although German Shepherd Dogs make great house dogs, we need regular daily exercise for our physical and mental well-being. Catahoulas are the only dog breed to have originated in Louisiana, where we are used for hunting/ tree dogs, watchdogs, and stock dogs. Adults are well-muscled and powerful dogs who are renown for their agility and stamina. We take our work seriously but are loving and loyal family companions at home. True confessions: Catahoulas require a firm hand because we can be independent and protective. We're dreaming of playing Frisbee at the dog park or at least a vigorous walk, jog, or hike with our new hoomans. Could that be with you? Timon and Pumbaa are updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. When they were first rescued, both dogs tested positive for heartworms. Now that they have completed their treatment, they only need to stay on a monthly preventative. Their bonded-pair adoption fee is $500 for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
