About Maverick

Meet handsome Maverick. Maverick is a 7-9 month-old male Catahoula & Great Pyrenees super sweet puppy. He is a happy-go-lucky, love-me-all-day-long kind of boy. His story: Unfortunately, Maverick was being surrendered to the shelter by his owner because he claimed that he and his wife fought over Maverick all the time and stated that Maverick didn't get along with his wife's cats. So, he was being handed over to the shelter when our rescue just happened to be there. I noticed Maverick in the waiting room and thought he had been adopted or was being picked up instead of being surrendered. Maverick was just a baby and as sweet as can be. He had no collar, leash, toys, or bed - nothing after the family claimed to have had him for 5 months. One look at Maverick, and we knew the shelter wasn't a place he should be, so we know we had rescue him. Now, this sweet boy is looking for his forever committed loving family. All about Maverick Aka Velcro: Maverick weighs 44 pounds, so he is going to be on the larger side, but don't let that stop you - Maverick is dog-friendly, cat-friendly (no issue with our cats), and people-friendly. As a puppy, he is still learning to be a dog, but he'll get there and is at the right age for training. Maverick likes to stick to his person and always be near then, hence his nickname Velcro. Maverick is super intelligent, loving, and just wants to be near you all the time. He's a snuggle bug too. Maverick walks without a leash and doesn't run off during pack walks; he stays close by and is very treat motivated too. He does well with car rides and is pee pad trained and also goes outside. Maverick would be the 'perfect' family dog - he is the total package for a family or best bud companion. He will not disappoint! Maverick is microchipped, up to date on vaccines, is on heartworm preventative, and is neutered. Maverick is a great boy and will have years of fun, companionship, and unconditional love.
