About Helios

Helios is a gorgeous, strong, and independent boy. He can be reserved at times, but he also loves a good petting session! He came into the shelter as a stray with his sibling Apollo. Apollo has since been adopted, but Helios here is still waiting his turn! Helios much prefers life outside of his kennel rather than in. He likes to have lots of toys around to entertain himself with when he's loose in the house. He gets very excited when he sees a leash because he knows it means he's getting to go out for a walk. He's super smart and learns fast. He's learned most of his basic commands in foster care and is mostly potty trained. He's always very gentle! Helios is a friendly boy who likes to be pet, but he's also happy to entertain himself when loose in the play yard. He has a medium energy level and settles down nicely after some exercise. He LOVES treats! We've also learned from his time in foster care that, while initially a little nervous around children, he opens up to them and will eventually find himself falling asleep while cuddled up to them. We've also learned that, while Helios is great with medium-large sized dogs, he's a cat chaser so he would do best in a cat free home.
