About Bowie

This handsome guy is Bowie, a 7 years old Australian Cattledog who weighs 50 pounds. Bowie knows a lot of commands: no, sit, stay, down, come, go to your bed, leave it, relax, and go potty. He also knows tricks: Roll over, shake, play dead, 360 (will spin in a circle) bow to the queen, (bows down -basically does a stretch) all for treats of course! He is also house and crate trained. Bowie is the kind of guy who is dedicated to his people and not interested in being pals with more than a few other folks. He does need anyone new to give him time to determine if he wants to be their friend or not. One person rudely petted Bowie without giving Bowie just a moment, and did get a warning bite. He also grabbed the arm of a toddler, so he is definitely not a fit for kids. His ideal home is not in a busy neighborhood, is fine putting him away if there are quite a few guests, and appreciates his loyalty. This is a savvy Cattledog adult owner's sidekick kind of dog. Bowie is neutral with other dogs when on walks but, in his home, he wants to be an only dog. He also isn't into dog parks and dog play dates. Likely no cats. For his people, Bowie is fun. He loves to fetch and play frisbee. He can catch a ball you throw at any speed! He also goes to swim in the pool on command. He is wonderful on leash and great in the car, so is a good travel buddy. He also has some of the goofy Cattledog traits, like not liking things with wheels such as the vacuum cleaner and the outside trash bin. He is also obsessed with the tv remote and sometimes nips at it. The right home will be rewarded with Bowie's morning cuddles. He does give kisses on command, too. This guy is crazy smart. Bowie is neutered and current on vaccinations. He is located in Oceanside, CA. He is ready to meet adopters who can meet and adopt here. We do not ship our dogs. A home visit and vet reference are required to adopt.
