Hi all, We are looking to re-home our female Australian Shepard. She is approx 9 months old. Her name is Chloe! She is not yet fixed but has all of her vaccines up to date and is currently on flea medication. She has been dewormed as well, but I have dewormer to send her with. We brought Chloe into our family after I saw her on a Farming Facebook page desperately looking to re-home her. Of course I went ahead and wanted to get her into a home and not a shelter. She has been with us since June of this year. We desperately wanted to keep her forever but she has classic Australian Shepard characteristics and it's becoming increasingly difficult to manage her with our 3 young children around the home. Chloe is awesome with our other dog. He is a blue heeler/golden retriever. They play all day and have a blast. She also plays extremely well with our neighbors dogs of all ages. She does not however do very well with our chickens. She does NOT take them in her mouth but she does try to herd them! She's a great working dog! But unfortunately I'm afraid she'll give them heart attacks! She is 'good' with our kids. And I put the quotes up because she means zero harm but she does nip and jump a lot. Of course I realize this is to be expected with her breed but it's causing my kids a lot of anxiety at this point because she knocks them over and freaks them out. A major reason why we feel like Chloe would do better in a home with older children or someone who has experience training Australian Shepards. Chloe is very smart. She learns extremely quick and is very agile!! Her last vet appt she was 34 lbs and wasn't estimated to grow much bigger. From what I understand both of her parents were purebred full size though she is on the smaller side. We have a lot of fenced in land for Chloe to run in which is a must for her! She sleeps in her indoor crate at night which is also very important (it's currently in our room). She doesn't love her crate but she does go in at about 9pm to 6 am every night! Sometimes she needs to be taken out in the middle of the night but it's not frequent. She also stays in her crate when we are out of the home as well. I don't work a regular job so the most she is ever in her crate during the day is around 6 hours at the max. Chloe is mostly potty trained but has the occasional mistake on carpet, I don't think it's accidental but it happens. If you're interested in Chloe feel free to Dm me or comment below.
