About Bear

Adoption Fee: $375
Lab mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Bear Get ready to fall in love! Bear will charm you with his soulful eyes, goofy smile, and sweet nature. Bear is a 6month Black Lab who is likely mixed with a little something else. Something big! At 60 pounds already, he is going to be a very big boy. Looking for a friend to play fetch? Bear is your guy! Walking or hiking buddy? He meets the criteria! Although Bear loves to play, he is also quite low key for a puppy. His foster parents say that if he isn't actively playing, he is very happy to chill on the couch with you and take in a movie. Bear loves other dogs and we think he would love another playful dog as a best friend. While he has seen cats and not been reactive, we have not cat tested Bear. He does like to watch and chase squirrels on his walks! Bear is very eager to please and highly trainable. His fosters have taught him sit and are working on teaching him to ring a bell to go outside. This beautiful boy is crate trained and sleeps quietly all night in his crate. He does want to know you are nearby, so he is crated in the bedroom with his fosters. Like all young labs, anything on the ground is fair game and could end up in his mouth! He happily accepts an appropriate toy substitution however, and will lay on his bed or the sofa with a toy while you work. He also loves to play ball, and is quite adept at it! We would love to see Bear in an home that will continue his training and socialization. His perfect family will have a home with a fenced yard, maybe a doggy sibling for him, and at least one person with a flexible schedule. He is still a puppy after all. Bear came to us from a vet in Texas who convinced his prior owner to surrender him due to lack of time, Bear spent a lot of time alone, and has lacked some socialization. Because of this he can be a little shy at first, and fearful in new situations. With time and .training to build his confidence, he is going to be the dog of a lifetime. Bear is fostered in Seattle, and available for meet and greets to approved applicants. Apply online at bigdogrescueproject.org/adopt
