COURTESY POSTING: Roscoe is in foster care for Santa Barbara County Animal Services. Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in him. Roscoe is a really delightful young dog, approx. 1 year old. He was found as a stray in December and adopted by his finder, but the other dog in the household didn't like his youthful energy (of which there is an abundance) so he returned him to the shelter recently. Roscoe is now in foster care with 8 other dogs and a cat and doing great! Roscoe is high energy, very playful, and full of fun. He loves EVERYONE: dogs, cats, people large and small; he even lived with ducks, geese and sheep. He loves kids too, but is too rowdy for very young ones. Roscoe is housebroken, leash trained, and crate trained. He's great on hiking trails and would be a perfect running buddy. And he LOVES playing at the dog park! He does have one challenge: he is congenitally deaf. It will make training him a bit more complicated, since he will need visual commands (hand signals), but dogs actually do better with visual training, and he is smart and eager to please. He's already learned sit and is learning come with hand signals. And since he's always nearby, it's not that big a deal that he can't hear you calling at home!
