About a month ago, I adopted 7 year-old, red heeler mix Hawkeye from the Hardin County Animal Shelter. He was there for about a month and they had little knowledge of his background. Hawkeye doesn't seem to like people being physical, (like picking him up, or pushing him away when he's encroaching on someone's space). Because of the previously stated reason, he is in need of behavioral training and has bitten defensively in the past. In his current environment, he is at risk of euthanasia and is need of a home that can dedicate love and attention. He is otherwise a very sweet and fun-loving dog, he knows basic commands and is housetrained. He gets attached to toys and loves to play, generally loves people and any kind of attention. Hawkeye is up-to-date on vaccinations. I believe he is best suited to be the only pet in the home and makes an amazing walking companion. We are willing to donate all of his toys, food, collar, walking harness, and necessities.
