***LOSING FOSTER HOME ON HALLOWEEN*** Currently in Ketchum, ID Needs cat-free, small-animal-free, and someone home a lot. We need an urgent foster for this very people-social, 2-year-old, underweight (32lb) border collie pup we named WREN. She is a happy dog and loves everyone that she meets. WREN is dog-friendly after proper introduction (see video of her chasing the Corgi around and photos of her and RALLO), and does well with other dogs in the home. WREN is NOT good with cats or small animals or short fences. She can be feisty with new dogs, but takes correction well. WREN is smart to the point that she can appear to be stubborn. WREN knows how to 'sit', is crate-trained, and is working on house training. She is respectful of short fences/baby gates. She was a little scared for her first bath, but now enjoys the water. WREN loves kids and she's very tolerant and gentle of being handled. WREN has been diagnosed with Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). This chronic disease is the inability to produce sufficient pancreatic enzymes to digest fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. This leads to poor absorption of nutrients which commonly causes weight loss despite a normal or increased appetite. She did not do well with dry kibble, so she has been on a raw diet and pancreatic enzymes. Her current plan requires 3-4 small meals per day. She always eats like she is starving. She is still not gaining weight. We are getting the assistance of a specialist to ensure that the current plan is appropriate MORE PHOTOS: https://photos.app.goo.gl/UtUrNwyV12WeZXgP8 Complete an easy, online adoption application to meet WREN in Ketchum, ID. https://www.friendsfureveranimalrescue.com/adoption-application BACKGROUND: WREN was saved from an overcrowded shelter in Castle Dale, UT at the end of April. Her fur was in poor condition so it was obvious that she had been living on her own for a while. After a month, foster mom noticed that she was not gaining weight and that's when we received a vet diagnosis of EPI.
