About Koda

Adoption Fee: $450
Great Pyrenees / Pit Bull
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Koda is in foster in Boulder, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/koda/. You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/. When Koda first joined MHCR in early January, we knew he was a pup that needed a little help, but we had no idea everything Koda had actually endured. After multiple vet visits, it was discovered that Koda sustained extensive trauma to his head and had multiple fractures to his skull and mandible. This little pup that was found on New Year's Eve on the side of a WY highway with his deceased brother must have quite a story to tell. Koda's injuries led to him not being able to open his mouth, which is quite dangerous for a young, black, dog in Colorado (cue panting, eating, chewing, etc). After a series of CT scans and waiting until Koda was old enough, he was finally able to have the life-saving surgery that would allow him to FINALLY open his mouth. Koda's world has become so much larger and brighter now that he can chew and lick and pant and do all the glorious things other dogs can do. Sure, his face is a little crooked%BD'%BD|.but he's so, so, so cute and sweet we're just certain his forever peeps won't care. Koda's prognosis is great. He's in PT once a week at present but is graduating soon to at home exercises only. He's dog friendly, crate trained, and despite all he's been through, he loves people. He's a mellow, quirky, pup that will make a great addition to any home. Koda's DNA reveals he is a true Heinz 57 of approx 19 breeds. The top 3 being Pyrenees, Pittie, and German Shepherd. He has a beautiful, medium length coat. Koda is now approx 6-7 months old.
