About Piper

Adoption Fee: $100
Maine Coon / Himalayan
Age: Kitten
Sex: Female

Piper joined my multi pet family after we lost a senior rescue cat. She came from a Maine Coon Breeder trying to get rid of her because she had not been sold, who said she was purebred but that her mother didn't have papers and had some Himalayan in her%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A4%BD%BD%BD. She was 4 months old and completely unsocialized. It took time but finally she became a loved part of my family, 4 little dogs, 4 cats/kittens, all spay/neutered, all current on vaccinations. I took her to a clinic where she got spayed and microchipped. 2 weeks later I discovered a patch of what looked to me like ringworm on her face above her eye. I isolated her causing my other young cat and sweet adult cat to cry outside my door. Long story short, she had ringworm. It has been about 8 weeks, she has gotten 2 rounds of the oral medication and been in complete isolation. I couldn't deal with keeping her in a crate so long, so she is in my bedroom. She spends all day crying. My other cats spend all night crying. I have not gotten ringworm and have a jug of hand sanitizer next to my bed so I can pet her then clean off. I just got back from the vet who told me that she will need to be kept isolated for at least 4 more months. All my pretty ones must continue to cry. I am hoping to find a knowledgeable person who has no other pets who would want her knowing that she is in the 2nd half of being treated for ringworm. She is a silly sweety who loves to play (7 mo.old), has a funny scratchy Maine Coon voice, and just wants to sit on your lap and be near you. I am really sad about this. But my other babies also want to be with me. No one is happy anymore. She really is a doll who needs to be loved. If it didn't work out, I would take her back. Price is there to keep creeps away but could be negotiable. Read up on adopting a cat with ringworm and see if you might do it. I haven't decided what I will do with her if no one takes her. I do not want to put her down. I might just give her to a no kill shelter if they would take her. YouTube link https://youtube.com/shorts/8SApVkHf4C8?feature=share
